Oh the joys of moving

Even Bremen is depressed over all the boxes. But it's all good, cause our little family is MOVING!!! Yes... that's right... moving to make room for a new addition in February. The baby gets his/her own room instead of us all sharing 450 sq. ft. EEK!!! I am so excited for the decorating process and making it feel like home! Been doing a lot of Pinterest lately to get some new, cute ideas for DIYing our home.  Anyone with suggestions for new projects send then my way, PLEASE, I will take any suggestions. I love hearing what new DIYs people have. <3

More pictures of the whole process to come!

FREE Ad Space!!!

I have been busy as a mouse doing all sorts of fantastic updates these days! Through this process I have come to the extraordinary conclusion that the only thing missing around here is... YOU! It is YOU that would make this space cuter, YOU that would add more appeal and YOU that will bring life to Reflect -n- Recreate. Join me!

You heard me right! For the next two weeks I will be offering FREE AD SPACE to anyone that can get me an image and link to their website. I just recently learned how to add picture link sidebars and am so ready to get busy adding your beautiful sites, for whatever it might be you sell. I will say, as a disclaimer, that I do have to approve your sites and what you sell but unless you are selling...well... let's just say... unappropriate things that I do not want my name attatched to then you will have no problem getting some ad space with me! :)

How exciting is this!?!? Now get going on getting me a beautiful image and link so we can get your store out there too! Send it either through my Facebook or Email me, whichever is easiest for you. Yay! Can't wait to see what you come up with.

Two on Tuesday

I haven't had this much fun with crayons in  a LONG TIME! This is something you can even do with your kiddos, they would find it terrific.

Step 1: Choose your canvas, grab your handy dandy glue gun, buy a large box of Crayola crayons (which will be on after school sale soon!), find a piece of cardboard that will sit on the ledge of your canvas, and lastly collect a heat gun or blow dryer.

Step 2: Decide on the color arrangement you are wanting for your crayons and place them in the order you like you best. Next you will, without messing up the order, hot glue each one to the piece of cardboard you found before.

Step 3: Hold your canvas up in a slight tilt to make sure that the crayons will drip down it good. Once your canvas is tilted hold your piece of cardboard so it rests on the ledge of the canvas.

Step 4: Plug your heat gun or blow dryer in and get to work! We found that a heat gun works better cause it gets hotter and doesn't blow as much air out at one time. As the crayons melt, and it takes just a few seconds for the melting to start, you will need to aim the heat gun further up on the crayon.

VOILA!!! You have your very own crayon art masterpiece! How fun and easy was that? If you have any questions at all about what we did or don't quite understand something please ask.

Another glorious find!

Oh man the things you find when you hunt for treasures at Goodwill! Mom and I found this beautiful children's poncho today. We bought it for a whopping $1.69 and it's originally from The Children's Place and completely unused. Can you believe it?!? This beauty would have cost well over $30 if bought brand, stinkin', new. Anyone wanna say... BARGAIN SHOPPING EXPERTS!

Big things coming!

My first modeling attempt. 15 weeks pregnant
Good afternoon my dear friends! I am always so thrilled when I have the honor to share with you all, it truly makes my day. I wanted to fill you all in on a few of the thoughts I have going through my creative mind to bring more life to Reflect -n- Recreate.

In the next few weeks I am working on adding some wonderful new additions and ideas to Reflect -n- Recreate. Ok, ok... let's be honest, I am actually working on becoming more organized before February. I know it seems like I have a long time before February comes but with baby preparations having to take place in the midst I don't want to slack on you guys. I want to bring life and excitement to this blog. I want to give you a better taste of my life and all the wonderful things I come across. Topics from Gluten Free foods, to photography, fashion, art, family, etc. The thing is, I dont want my blog to become like everyone else's out there and just blend in. I want to stand out from the crowd with the words I say and the life I am sharing with you. My hope is to show you that you can do anything you set your mind to. If your dream is to start your own blog... DO IT! If it's to dabble in art... PAINT AWAY! If you always dreamed of modeling... START! Everything is scary until you jump in and try it.

It is on that note that I say goodbye... for now. Hugs and <3's

Rockaby Baby...

Craigslist is a LIFE SAVER!!! We officially purchased a crib for our sweet little bumble bee. Isn't it the most precious looking crib in the world? I fell in love the moment I found it online because its uniqueness blew me away.
My sweet husband was so excited about putting this together that he almost didn't want to take it apart. He relinquished that request when he realized the crib was taking over our whole living room.

You may also notice the most adorable painting proped up in the background. That, my friends, was painted by my mother and sister in law for the babie's room. Our theme is Cow Jumped Over the Moon, with other nursery rhymes. It's the most precious thing in the world. They even put our little Bremen in the painting rolling on the floor laughing. It was everything I ever hoped for and more!

Can anyone tell me????

My mom and I had the most amazing finds at a thrift store today. The store was moving and had their entire stock at 85% off!!! Can you imagine our excitment??!!??

We immediately headed for the children section, appropriate since there is a sweet baby growing in my belly, and felt like it was Christmas time and we got to pick all our own gifts! We were finding all sorts of old kid's toys for $1.00 with that 85% off I mentioned before. True story! Crazy, I know.

There is one toy in particular that we puzzled over how old it might be. I have searched high and low throughout the internet trying to find this exact toy and came up empty handed. The closest I got was finding a 1960s Fisher Price toy called a Jolly Jumping Jack, it just was not EXACTLY the same as this one. I have the picture of the toy below. The toy has no maker on the back, all it says is Made in Hong Kong No. 1038. You pull down on the pull string and his arms/legs move up and down, his eyes go up and down, and as his limbs go down he squeaks. Can anyone help me figure out just how old this toy is??? I would LOVE to know cause my goal is to have mostly vintage toys for our little one.

You guys ready for the exciting new plans?

Drum roll please.......................

My mom and I will be starting to re-create ideas from Pinterest! Ok maybe not news to write home about but, come on, who doesn't look around Pinterest WANTING to do all the amazing ideas but just never getting around to them. We are hoping that our step-by-step tutorials will fly you off your seat and straight to your craft area to do them right along with us. So, get ready to move and create amazing things!

I wanted to add a little tid bit about our last Two on Tuesday. I completely had a brain fart and forgot to mention one of the main reasons we decided to go with the project we went with. My mom was perusing through the Anthropologie website(if you don't know about this store you MUST do your research, you'll thank me) and found that they had the exact same kind of cake pedestals we made for my wedding. We added on the yard decor pieces on our own, but could not leave out the pedestals. They are so easy to make that there is no reason to spend the big bucks when you could have fun doing it yourself!

Two on Tuesday's are BACK!!!

After a long, anticipating wait for my creative mojo to come back to me, I am proud to say it has and I don't think you will be disappointed with what it brought.

We decided to branch out from our normal paper, ribbon, and glimmer mist. We thought it might be neat to show you what to do with some random, unused items you might have around your house.

Create it for yourself:

What we used: glass cup and saucer, brown beer bottle,
candle stick holder, small white plate, and E6000 glue
Steps 1-4: Using your E6000 glue, glue around each of the pieces you chose
to use. Allow 2-10 minutes drying time before sticking together. **One thing
we also did before gluing anything was choosing what order we wanted to place
the pieces that looked most appealing.

Steps 5 & 6: After waiting the allotted time, stick together each of the pieces.
Make sure you push firmly, but not to firmly (you don't want to break anything).
Allow 24 hours drying time before you put your new creation on display.
Step 7: Taking a bamboo stick, hammer it into the ground in any desired location.
We wanted to show you a few of the other ones we made also just to give you an
idea of shapes and colors that can look nice together. On the white one we just
used a flower vase even instead of a beer bottle.

I thought you might want some more cute ideas that takes the E6000 glue.
We made these as platters for my wedding. Everything we used we found at
thrift stores. The short platter is just a platter plate with a decorative bowl used
as the base. When you are picking pieces just make sure that you find ones that are generally flat on the bottom where you are going to be gluing it together at.

You can use the bottle decor for so many things, its one of the reasons I love these so much! A few ideas we came up with were: holding a small potted plant, water for the birds, birdseed for the birds, or even just simply to catch rain water. Share with me what you used your beautiful piece for, I would LOVE hearing your ideas! Thanks for stopping by, hugs and <3's.

My apologies...

My sweetheart and I have the opportunity to have a babymoon tonight and tomorrow (YAY!!! Like the honeymoon we never had). Because of this wonderful opportunity I have to postpone my Two on Tuesday posting until Wednesday. My sincere apologies to everyone that has been waiting on pins and needles for its grand return. Hugs and <3's

Creative Juices are FLOWING!!!!

It is a long long time in the waiting but FINALLY I am feeling the creative juices again. It's a miracle!

First creations to complete= pages for the ladies books!

My mom and I, along with 6 other woman, created Nature themed books full of blank pages. The blank pages are for each of the other ladies in the group to fill with their own style of nature. Fun huh?!?! Well we have had our same 3 books for about a month now with no juices to fill the pages with. After finally climbing the 12 week wall I put my foot down and said, " NO MORE!" I was going to start being creative, and what do you know... IT WORKED! We sat down and nobody was going to stop us. Once we started we just could not stop. God was with us for sure and just let that creativity He gave us flow like no other! I was so proud of us I thought of all of you immediately and just had to share my finished products! I am in love with the pages I created and dancing on cloud 9 as we speak. <3

Cheri just loves pink so I knew I had to add as much as possible,
but still keep it in the nature theme. <3 Tedious but I LOVE it!

Katy loves the beach and so I had so much fun with this one!
Used all kinds of techniques I had never used before. <3

Terry just loves pumpkins and went with a fall theme for her's so I expanded.
I love how it turned out with my pumpkin patches and dripping stains!
Fall is also MY favorite time of year so I had even more fun with these pages <3
I hope you all enjoyed these eye candy pages as much as I did! Word of advice... don't ever be afriad to start something just cause you dont have a picture of what you want in your head. My best work has always been when I start doing a project with no thought of what I want it to look like. It always takes on a life of its own to me and is better than I ever imagined! Don't doubt the God given gift you have been given... it will take you far if you just trust in His guidance. Hugs and <3's

p.s- dont forget.... next week starts our new Two on Tuesday's!!! It is pretty spectacular if I do say so myself!
